Deacon James Ratliff entered peacefully into eternal rest, Christmas night, at merit Health Hospital in Jackson, MS.

James was born on August 15, 1943 to the late Walter and LT Ratliff in Raymond, MS.

James confessed his faith and belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Belmont Missionary Baptist Church.

James was a faithful member of the male choir and a dedicated deacon until his transition to his everlasting home.

James was known for his gentle, kind, caring and calm spirit.

James was a dedicated husband, loving granddaddy, faithful church member and loyal friend.

James retired from the Hinds County Public Works Division in 2007 as a Maintenance Coordinator.

James loving memories will be forever cherished by his wife, Nettie Mae Ratliff; six God given children: Eugene, Joann, Clayton (Leola), Velma, Almetha, And Clarence; two brothers: J. D. Ratliff and Walter  (Henrietta) Ratliff; four sisters: Alma Christian, Lidia Banks, Fannie Ree (Earnest) Scott and Minnie Johnson; two sisters-in-law: Flora Mae Johnson and Mae B. (George) Martin; 14 grandchildren: Kori and Roland Christian, Destiny Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Constance and Jessica Johnson, Justice Clayton, Celita Kelly, Latorra Brooks, Jennifer Graham, Ryan and Elliott Johnson, Melissa Johnson, LeKeshia Herron and Iesha Daniels; one aunt: Mae Edna Singleton and a host great grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and many friends.
