Joe Nathan Henderson was born on August 22, 1952 to Laura Henderson and the late Henry Hearn in Flora, MS. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Wilson Grove M. B. Church in Flora, MS. He was educated at Rueben Junior High and he graduated from Sumner Hill High School in 1972, where he played basketball. He worked at Challenger Electric and retired from Siemens with 35 years of service. He enjoyed antique cars, going to car shows, Western TV shows, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joe Nathan was married to the lovely Florence Davis Henderson and to this union two sons were born: the late Shandell Henderson and Marquis Henderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Henry Hearn, his stepmother, Mrs. Darline Hearn, his grandson Kyia Henderson and his stepfather Mr. Jimmy Shaw.
Joe Nathan leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Laura Hawkins; his son, Marquis Henderson (Kemba), Florence Henderson; special goddaughter, Myeisha Lewis; sisters, Virginia Bell and Eunice Tanner (Lesley) of Talladega, AL, Annie Pearl Weathersby and Christine Galtney (Bennie) of Byram, MS, Earnestine McCray and Sharon Love (Donald) of Jackson, MS, Genever Shaw of Bolton, MS, Cheryl Williams (James), Lynne Simmons (Rod) and Stephanie Thibodeaux of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Willie Hawkins of Jackson, MS, Larry Shaw (Latoya) of Madison, MS, Jimmy Shaw (Tanya) of Terry, MS; John Shaw of Bolton, MS, Henry Hearn, Jr. (Ann), Roger Hearn (Paula), Tim Hearn (Gabrielle) and Minister Anthony Hearn (Cathy) of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Akia Cabell, Breyuna Carter, Malik Henderson, Mikevus Henderson, Ashton Henderson, Madison Henderson, and Keymiah Jones; great grandchildren, Tristyn Carter, Taylor Carter, Trentyn Carter, Tatum Carter, McKinley Henderson, Austin Henderson and Khylon Pugh; aunt, Iona Veal of Jackson, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
