Mary Elizabeth Jorden was the sixth child born to Buck Austin and Matilda Bernard Austin on December 25, 1925.
Growing up Mary lived near the White Oak Church on County Line Road.
In 1946 Mary met Warner Jorden. After he was discharged from the military and they dated for two years, they were married on July 22, 1948. To this union six children were born.
Mary united with the Greater Northside M. B. Church on Easter Sunday night under the leadership of the late Rev. Amos B. Brown. On this night she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. She was a member briefly of the senior choir.
Mary enjoyed making accessories for her dressy attire and often shared them with others.
God called Mary to rest on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at her home in Clinton, MS. She was preceded in death by: her lifelong companion, Warner Jorden, Sr.; her son, Albert Jorden; parents, Buck and Matilda Austin; siblings, Issac, Earnest, Isadore, Walter, Charles and Wilima.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Elaine Jorden May, Warner Jorden, Jr., Pamela Diane Price, Jacquelyn Jorden and Teresa Jorden. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of grand and great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
