Ventros Ralph Pool, Jr. was born on March 30, 1956 to the late Ventros Ralph Pool, Sr. and the late Annie Catherine Stegall Pool.

Upon the divorce of Ven’s mother and father, when Ven was just a child, it was only he and his mother living in a duplex on Scooba Street next to his uncle Jesse and aunt Ena Stegall along with his cousins Lenny and newborn Jeffery. Shortly after, the Stegall’s moved to Jackson, MS leaving him and his mother in Hattiesburg, MS, where his mother served as a registered nurse at Forest General Hospital until her death on February 15, 1968. Upon his mother’s death, Ventros came to live with his uncle Jesse and aunt Ena Stegall in Jackson. MS where they adopted him into their family and loved his as their own.

Ventros was educated in the Jackson Public School District and graduated from Calloway High School in 1974. After graduation he attended Jackson State University, where he was a member of the Sonic Boom of the South. Later, he left school and join the Army and served for several years.

After the military, he took up residence in Colorado Springs, CO and for many years he owned a painting business and raised his son Jaquone Waszil. He and Jaquone moved back to Mississippi in 2003 where he resided until his death.

Ventros professed his faith in Jesus Christ under the leadership of Pastor Timothy E. Minter, Sr. at the Higher Ground Family Worship Center.

On May 22, 2026, Ventros departed this life on earth to his eternal rest. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Jesse L. Stegall, Jr.; and all of his aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish is memory: son, Jaquone Waszil; grandson, Jaden King Jaquone Yarbor; brothers, Rev. Jeffery A. Stegall and Chris (Vanita) Stegall; nephews, Damon Jones, Julian Stegall and Joshua Stegall; niece, Jesselynn Jenea’ (James) Stegall Valentine; his special friend, Lillie Jones; and a host of cousins and friends.
