Annie Myles

d. December 27, 2019

On Friday, December 27,  2019, God quietly called to rest one of His loved ones.  Annie Mary quietly took her last earthly breath and walked peacefully into God’s arms.

Annie Mary Hulitt Myles was born to the late Arealous and Marie Bradley Hulitt on August 19, 1921, in Clinton, Mississippi.  She was the first of two children born to that union.  After the accidental death of Arealous, Marie married Alex Mario Thomas.

Annie Mary accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C. P. Johnston.  Her talents as a pianist and vocalist were developed during her youth in in the church.

She was educated in the Hinds County Schools and Natchez College.  Later, she graduated from Jackson State College which allowed her to briefly teach school.  In 1947, Annie Mary was united in marriage to Robert Myles.  To this union three children were born, Valeria Ann Myles Daniels, Veda Marie Myles and Robert Arealous Myles.  The family relocated to Detroit, Michigan and eventually opened a dry cleaners.  Annie Mary returned to Clinton in 1985 to care for her aging mother Marie.

Her parents, husband, brother Arealous, and daughter Valeria, preceded her in death.  She leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted daughter Veda Marie Myles of Clinton, Mississippi, son Robert Arealous Myles of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and grandson Andrew L. Daniels, II of Bridgeport, Connecticut;  and great grandchildren Tamera, Armondo, Cyrus and Micah.
