Obituary

Jackie Marie Clay was a caring mother, sister, and friend.  She made her transition to eternal life on Monday, February 14, 2022.

She was the oldest of four children born to the union of the late Wash Clay, Jr. and Mary L. Clay of Jackson, MS.

Jackie united in holy matrimony to the late Lester Wilkerson, Jr. of Jackson, MS and to this union one child was born, Dion Clay, whom she loved dearly.

Jackie loved to sing and was a member of the Mississippi Mass Choir.  She enjoyed traveling to visit her son, Dion, in Denver, CO.

Jackie worked for the Hinds County Sheriff Department for many years until she retired. She was a hard worker and dedicated to public service.  Her humor and joyful spirit would keep a smile on your face.  The joy of God's mercy and the excellence His grace resonated in her daily greetings.

Jackie made her transition to external life on Monday, February 14, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her father, Wash Clay, Jr., grandfathers, Silas Bolden, Sr., grandmothers, Annie Mae Bolden and Edna Clay.
